What Will Happen to Domino Park’s Mural and Trees?

We locals are concerned about the fate of the historic mural in Domino Park, commemorating the 1994 Summit of the Americas, and its shade trees.

We’ve heard of plans to paint over the mural, cut down one of its trees and increase the height of one of the park’s walls. When I spoke to my buddies in the park, including park staff, no one liked these plans. They liked the tree and thought the mural should be re-touched, but not replaced. Our Little Havana Commissioner Frank Carollo told me himself about his intentions of removing the mural, yet I’ve met no one who admits to having seen the new plans for the park. Read more.
